Donald Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize based on the Abraham Accords alone. We need to give narcissists nice things for doing good things so they'll keep doing them.
Gaza is at peace, for now.
Hamas won because it still exists, and it isn't going anywhere. Its key demands were that the IDF leave and the prisoners in Israeli hands be returned. That's precisely what they got. Its manifesto remains - build a Caliphate from the river to the sea, and kill or expel every single Zionist. The mass slaughter of many who they deem not to have been fanatical enough is already underway.
Netanyahu lost because Trump intervened just on the cusp of annexation and expulsion. He was so close! There will be an election in Israel in a year. He is done.
Maybe peace will break out?
Expand the Abraham Accords to all Arab nations except Iran, and much of the political support for Hamas will evaporate. A long road to peace could open up.
Rebuild Gaza from the ground up over the next five years, and maybe the horror these people experienced can be offset a bit.
Ultimately, Jews and Arabs will have to accept each other for this to work.
The far right in Israel continues to grow in numbers and influence.
Thousands of kids in Gaza don't need to be recruited to join the terrorists - the Israelis just gave them all the motivation they will ever need.
